Updated 1:50 PM PST
Several reports have recently been coming in stating that some stores have voided the sale for the time being.
According to a Circuit City employee, "The sale just ended. We will resume a similar sale on July 11th."
It seems as if the sale doesn't officially start till the 11th, although some stores have been selling them on sale early. Even some stores are saying July 21st is the when the sale ends.
Although some stores have indeed discontinued the $5.00 titles, several stores may still carry the sale or have started early. Make sure to call your local Circuit City, asking for a specific game's price from the list to make sure.
Gamers who have taken advantage of the sale have reported that most or all of the clearance priced games are not marked as $5.00 (It's only reflected at check-out). Check with floor employees first by scanning the item, before confirming the purchase.
Good luck.
Updated July 5th, 2004
Several GCA Staffers have returned their reports from numerous Circuit City stores stating the problem for them not selling some of the games do not lie in the computers, but rather the stock.
Games are being bought by the bags at local Circuit City's, lowering the quantity of the games on the list. It seems as if the sale will still continue however, so hope for the best.
Update 6/5/04
All Circuit City stores received an email this morning stating that the $5.00 games are voided until July 11th, the day the actual sale was originally scheduled to take place. All discounted games are therefore back to their normal prices for now.
Sunday's going to be one crazy day. You can mark that one for sure.
